Ceremony Magazine Los Angeles 2014 | Interview with Ines Di Santo

Interview with Ines Di Santo at Lovella Bridal

When did you know you were meant to be a designer?
I always loved playing with dolls and I had a baby sister, Angela. When she was about nine months old, I set her on top of some material and cut around her. I was seven at the time. And yes, I made her an outfit.

Why design bridal gowns?
This is my hobby, not my work. I love it. I want to make dreams come true. As a designer, the day of the wedding is the most important in one’s life. A bride should live it like she’s on the red carpet.

Five words that describe your 2014 collection?
Soft, romantic, edgy, glamorous, sexy.

What inspired the current line?
The Gardens of Paris. French lace, flowering flowers, leaves, and lots of color.

Advice to brides on finding THE DRESS?
The gown is PERSONALITY. It should suit you and be a reflection of who you are and the way you want to look. It should also enhance your figure. You don’t want to see a different person in your pictures. Those go beyond and become a part of your history.

Who is your favorite fashion designer?
Christian Dior inspires me for draping and Versace for color. Versace uses the most difficult colors and creates true beauty.

What should a bride remember on her wedding day?
To be happy and enjoy every moment as it goes by so fast. It may only be one day you’re in that gown but it’s for the rest of your life.

Final thoughts?
Love is the most important thing. Love the person, Love the dress. I wish Lovella Bridal, this magnificent store, all the best!

Nocturnal Honeymoon Activities at Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort

After Dark at Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort

The Caribbean brings thoughts of bright sunny days, but at Sugar Beach, the fun starts when the sun goes down.

Night Snorkeling
Available nowhere else on the island, night snorkeling showcases the nocturnal underwater wonders of Anse des Pitons, the resort beach. Armed with a waterproof flashlight, guests see a set of creatures that come out at night, including phosphorescent plankton, brightly colored parrot fish, and octopi. Above the surface, the Pitons twinkle with fireflies hovering over the lower slopes. As night diving is usually reserved for advanced SCUBA divers, this is a special opportunity for beginners. Sessions are 45-60 minutes.

Cinema Under the Stars
Every week, Sugar Beach sets up an al fresco cinema on the beach complete with drinks, popcorn, and a supplementary soundtrack of lapping waves.

Black & White Party
Complimentary rum punch, wine, and beer are served at the Black & White party held weekly at the Cane Bar. Guests can indulge in chocolate truffles and homemade candies while mingling with locals or sneaking off for a round of Snooker.

Snooker
The Snooker table is always a hot spot in the late-night bar off the Cane Bar. British guests take Americans under their wing to teach them this Commonwealth cousin of pool. The turntable and vinyl records are from owner Roger Myers’ personal collection – he was once the accountant for The Rolling Stones – and set the mood with plenty of Stones, Beatles, and their contemporaries.

Kabé Privé
Guests can reserve a Kabé Privé, a cabana by the pool for dinner under the stars. Sip Champagne and dine on jerk-seasoned mahi mahi, ginger-lime shrimp, and scallops by torchlight. Pool proximity is ideal should the urge for a moonlight dip take hold.
