What should a couple expect when going into their tasting, New York Food Company?

Our couples will enjoy tasting a wide variety of gourmet menu items, and if they’ve requested something special, we’ll create that for them to sample. NYFC menus feature an eclectic mix of traditional favorites fused with current trends. We offer exquisitely served, plated meals to beautiful yet casual buffets. Fresh. Delicious. Creative…that’s NYFC.

How far in advance should a couple book you for their wedding?

The most popular day to tie-the-knot remains Saturday, so if a couple wants that day, they should reserve up to a year in advance. Our venues are available seven days a week, so Fridays and Sundays may be viable options.

What kind of menu is most exciting to you?

Every menu and every event is customized to fit the style and taste of each couple. We really like the global fusion cuisine trend that continues to evolve. Couples today are interested in trying new flavors and especially adding a new twist to comfort classics.

What signature drinks do you recommend for a wedding?

Signature cocktails are a great way to start the party. They can be prepared and ready to tray pass to guests as they arrive. This avoids long lines at the bar. Couple seems to gravitate towards fresh takes on margaritas and mojitos, like adding a zesty ingredient like ancho chile and garnishing with fresh herbs. Consider serving one signature cocktail per guest. There will be guests who won’t imbibe and others who may want a second sip!

What is the most unique and fabulous combination of cake flavors you have ever created?

Most couples go with traditional favorites. A trend that’s popular is featuring three or more individual cakes instead of just one large wedding cake. This gives them more options on types of cakes, sizes, shapes, filling and frostings, and décor.

What is your favorite part about being part of a couple’s wedding day?

The best part of the wedding planning process is getting to personally know each client. The NYFC team never tires of being a vital part of our clients’ special days, whether it’s watching couples exchange vows, hearing the toasts, or watching the couples’ first dance. We love that we are able to help create beautiful memories for one of life’s important events.

If you were to serve the last meal on earth, what would it be?

A tapas tasting featuring a little bit of everything. That means surf and turf and delicious vegetarian and gluten free too – one of our favorites is the vegetarian portobello stuffed mushroom. It’s delicious and satisfies those guests with a restricted diet.

– Mini ahi tacos with cucumber mango salsa and wasabi crème.
– Tater tots tossed in garlic parsley butter, dusted with freshly grated parmesan cheese, served in individual paper cones.
– Bacon-wrapped dates on Belgian endive with blue cheese aioli.
– Braised short rib sliders
– Soup sips with mini grilled cheese bites

What type of details, besides the wonderful meal, can your team provide for the couple?

Each couple has a dedicated coordinator who helps with planning their event from start to finish. Our venues are turn-key, providing round tables, classic chiavari chairs, linens, stemmed glassware, porcelain plates, fine quality utensils, and serving pieces. We have built-in dance floors, wireless sound systems, ambient lighting, and customizable signs. We also have a tried and true list of preferred vendors that we can refer if needed, including DJs, bands, photographers, videographers, floral designers and more. Presentation is everything. Our tabletop designers create exceptional seasonal displays using fresh produce and natural elements while complimenting the couple’s color palette.
