Put the words Marriott and Puerto Vallarta together, and it spells out a quintessential destination wedding location.
Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa is an ideal venue to anchor your Puerto Vallarta destination wedding. The superbly beachfront property offers views of The Atlantic and mountains on one side and is located just steps from Marina Vallarta on the other.
Say your vows on the beach and celebrate with an intimate “Dine Around Mexico” six-course tasting menu in the herb garden, or treat your guests to a fiesta on the adjacent, lush lawn.
The warm and welcoming Mexican hospitality which the country is famous for does not get lost in the grand size of the resort. The entire staff at this TAG Approved Hotel, from the restaurant hosts to the on-site wedding planners, are extremely friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Perhaps that is partially due to the way the hotel’s management encourages, supports and treats their employees like family. Outside the Marriott, your guests will relish in all the area has to offer.
Puerto Vallarta is bursting with flavor, but sometimes it takes going off the malecon to find it. Vallarta Food Tours is a great way to explore the options. Whether your guide takes you to Gaby’s for mole and margaritas, the historic Tortilleria La Gloria for fresh, hot corn tortillas, or Sabor Azteca for handmade, old school and indigenous candies, you’ll get to feel a bit like a local in the know for a day.
For your own self-guided tour, you can’t go wrong at the marina. Grab tasty tacos and a drink for about $5 at many of the restaurants. Even better, head there on a Thursday night for the Marina Vallarta Art & Market with seemingly endless food stands and art offerings.
For a dinner on the finer side, El Arrayan is everything. It’s open air and verdant, rustic and vibrant. It’s off the beaten path yet close to the malecon. Its founders and well-traveled female owners hail from foodie Mexico City. Its thoughtful Mexican wine list pairs perfectly with its regional dishes from around Mexico, and its signature El Arrayan Margarita made with local arrayán fruit pairs perfectly with their out-of-this-world salsa negra (or cricket tacos for the more daring). Indeed, it is everything anyone would ever want in a Puerto Vallarta restaurant. (Be sure to take a piece of this haven home by purchasing a jar of the salsa negra!)
The Fine Points
